Theme: The central idea of the book is to offer a standpoint on how individuals can manage personal finances. Financial Knowledge becomes a crucial matter when kids, students, youths, young adults are only taught basic algebra and not equipped on how to manage the small, medium or large finances they find surrounding them.
History: The book is written at a time when Zimbabwe has faced the worst ever economic meltdown which saw the introduction of a multi-currency system. The multi-currency system sort of stabilized the economy since then. But also it has seen the sinking of illegal dealers and a sudden rise of small to medium scale business people. The book also speaks to these young entrepreneurs on how to manage their personal finances consequently the small businesses.
Author: Kudzai M. Mubaiwa is an independent financial advisor, and the founder of InvestorSaint (Private) limited. My first encounter with her was a year ago when I was attending a Youth Business Boot Camp in Zimbabwe. She immediately struck me and placed a mark on how I deal with my personal finances especially the area of having a savings account. For an emerging youth this means a lot and takes a lot of courage to do as well. Kudzai is a new breed of motivational speakers in the country who are business minded, share their personal walk, light other people’s fire from theirs and are in constant touch with reality.
